Militants attacked security forces in Hygam area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday afternoon.
As per details, militants fired a couple of rounds of fire on joint Naka party of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Jammu and Kashmir Police at Hygam near Time Pass Hotel. The security forces retaliated. However, the militants managed to escape from the spot.
“One army jawan has sustained injures and is being treated”, said a senior police officer.
The security forces have cordoned off the area and search operations are underway.
Earlier, a Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist and an army soldier were killed while another soldier injured in a brief exchange of fire in Kamrazipora area of South Kashmir's Pulwama district.
